Set up Furvale

1. Add Furvale to your Shopify theme library and open Customize.
2. Choose Furvale, Tugford, Purrden, Hutchwood or Finwell as the starting preset.
3. Set the logo, favicon, colors, typography and store navigation.
4. Add products and species collections, then complete the relevant furvale product metafields.
5. Preview product options, size guidance, quick add, starter kits and cart behavior at desktop and mobile widths.

Duplicate the theme before editing code. Theme updates do not merge custom code edits automatically.

The shop-by-pet section uses merchant collections. Product chips and related products use furvale.species and furvale.life_stage. Collection navigation can use Shopify Search & Discovery filters, collection handles, or product tags depending on the store configuration.

• Create and populate one collection for each species you sell.
• Add the documented species and life_stage values to relevant products.
• Configure size as a product option, metafield or Search & Discovery filter.
• Check every chip destination. Chips without a valid destination are intentionally hidden.
• Use merchant-curated related product references for species-specific recommendations.

• Enter ingredient and feeding_guide values from the product manufacturer; the theme presents merchant-entered information and does not give veterinary or personalized nutrition advice.
• Enter measured size-chart rows using furvale.size_chart. Measurements are the fit reference; breed names are browsing aids, not a sizing guarantee.
• Use durability, materials and supervision fields for toy details, following the manufacturer’s guidance.
• Add care, FAQs and delivery_returns content only when it applies to the product.
• Keep health, safety, delivery and returns claims factual and supported by your store policies.

Empty product fields stay hidden. Do not use placeholder values to imply a measurement, feeding recommendation or safety claim.

1. Add the starter-kit section and select the products that belong together.
2. Confirm each product has purchasable variants and accurate prices.
3. Configure pack_size and native Shopify unit pricing for repeat essentials.
4. Use the quick-order page template with a collection of replenishment products.
5. Selling-plan choices appear only when Shopify selling plans and a compatible subscription provider are configured. Billing and fulfillment are handled by Shopify and the provider.

The theme includes Shopify storefront templates for home, products, collections, collection lists, cart, search, standard pages, contact, blog, articles, 404, password and gift cards, plus care-guide, FAQ, feeding-guide, new-pet-guide, quick-order, size-guide and toy-safety pages.
