Set up PWA: Home Screen App
Happify PWA: Home Screen App lets shoppers add your store to their phone’s home screen with your own icon, name and colours. A setup checklist activates the Shopify theme app embed and confirms when the published theme is ready.

Install and permissions
Happify PWA: Home Screen App is installed from Shopify and billed by Shopify. When you install it, Shopify asks you to approve these permissions. Each one is used only for the reason shown.

First run
- Install the app and choose a plan. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial billed by Shopify.
- Open Branding and choose a ready 512 × 512 PNG from Shopify Files. The store name is used unless you set a custom name.
- Open Setup and activate Happify Client on the published theme. Review the preview and save the theme in Shopify.
- Return to Setup and check that the embed is active. Preview the storefront and test the install steps on a phone.

Theme app embed settings
- App URL: leave the default.
- The app applies the saved brand colour and icon automatically.
Install funnel (Advanced)
Analytics shows manifest views, banner displays, browser acceptance, iPhone instructions opened, browser-reported installs and home-screen launches by device for 7, 30 or 90 days. iOS does not reliably report the final Add to Home Screen action.
Webhook integration
Advanced can send selected install events to one merchant-configured HTTPS webhook. Use Send test event to verify the endpoint. Recent attempts show delivery status and allow retries.
Troubleshooting
- No banner: check the embed is on in the published theme, “Show install banner” is on, and you have not dismissed it in the last 7 days on that phone.
- No prompt on iPhone: this is expected; Safari only supports Share › Add to Home Screen.
- Wrong icon: Android and iOS cache home screen icons; remove the shortcut and add it again after changing the icon.
Plans
Prices are in US dollars per month, billed by Shopify. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, and you can change or cancel the plan from the app at any time.

Uninstall and your data
Uninstall from Settings › Apps and sales channels in Shopify admin. Uninstalling cancels the subscription and stops syncing straight away.
- Turn off the app embed in the theme editor.
- Shoppers who installed your store keep the home screen shortcut; it simply opens your storefront.
Shopify asks us to delete your store’s data 48 hours after uninstall, and we delete it then. The privacy page for this app lists exactly what is stored and what is deleted.
