Set up PWA: Home Screen App
Happify PWA: Home Screen App lets shoppers add your store to their phone’s home screen with your own icon, name and colours. Setup is a theme app embed.

Install and permissions
Happify PWA: Home Screen App is installed from Shopify and billed by Shopify. When you install it, Shopify asks you to approve these permissions. Each one is used only for the reason shown.

First run
- Install the app and choose a plan. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial billed by Shopify.
- Open Branding and save an app name and a 512 × 512 https PNG icon. You can upload the icon to Content › Files in Shopify admin and paste its URL.
- In the theme editor, open App embeds and turn on the app’s embed (listed as “Happify Client”). Save the theme.
- Return to Overview: the “Not installable yet” warning clears once the name, icon and embed are in place.

Theme app embed settings
- App URL: leave the default.
- Browser bar colour.
- Apple touch icon URL (180 × 180) for iPhone and iPad.
Install funnel (Advanced)
Overview shows the last 30 days: manifest fetched, banner shown, accepted, installed and opened from the home screen. Lower plans see that the funnel is a paid feature.
Store kits
Overview links to a store kit installer for merchants setting up a Happify theme and app kit. It is optional and not needed for the home screen app.
Troubleshooting
- No banner: check the embed is on in the published theme, “Show install banner” is on, and you have not dismissed it in the last 7 days on that phone.
- No prompt on iPhone: this is expected; Safari only supports Share › Add to Home Screen.
- Wrong icon: Android and iOS cache home screen icons; remove the shortcut and add it again after changing the icon.
Plans
Prices are in US dollars per month, billed by Shopify. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, and you can change or cancel the plan from the app at any time.

Uninstall and your data
Uninstall from Settings › Apps and sales channels in Shopify admin. Uninstalling cancels the subscription and stops syncing straight away.
- Turn off the app embed in the theme editor.
- Shoppers who installed your store keep the home screen shortcut; it simply opens your storefront.
Shopify asks us to delete your store’s data 48 hours after uninstall, and we delete it then. The privacy page for this app lists exactly what is stored and what is deleted.
