Happify Dead Stock Rescue scores every variant from its sales velocity and age, shows the cash tied up in slow stock and suggests what to do, without changing anything in Shopify on its own.
Version 0.1.0 · Updated 2026-09-24
Happify Dead Stock Rescue is installed from Shopify and billed by Shopify. When you install it, Shopify asks you to approve these permissions. Each one is used only for the reason shown.
| Permission | Why the app needs it |
|---|---|
| read_orders | Sales velocity from order line items. |
| read_products | Products, variants and the “seasonal” tag. |
| read_inventory | Stock levels and unit costs for ageing and cash at risk. |
| read_locations | Stock per location. |
| write_products | Only the stock-rescue:restock product tag, from “Mark for restock”. |
None stored for this app. Stock Rescue uses order line items, dates and quantities only: its order import does not ask Shopify for the buyer’s name, email, phone or addresses, and customers are kept as a Shopify ID only. If another Happify app on your store needs those details (Reorder Predictions, Local Delivery Sheet or Invoice & Packing Slip), they are kept for that app; Stock Rescue never reads or shows them. The app needs Shopify’s protected customer data approval for orders, not for customer fields.
Without Shopify’s approval for order data, stock levels, ageing and cost exposure still work; velocity-based labels need orders.
| Label | Rule |
|---|---|
| Dead | No sale in 180 days |
| Dying | Sales down 50% or more against the previous month |
| Overstocked | More than 240 days of stock at current velocity |
| Slow | No sale in 90 days, or more than 120 days of stock |
| Watch | No sale in 60 days, or more than 60 days of stock |
Tag a product “seasonal” to exempt it. Settings has nothing to configure; it explains these rules.
Each at-risk item lists options such as clearance, markdown, bundle, gift with purchase, cross-sell, fix placement or restock, and pause reorders, including a “do not discount” choice. Approve, then Mark done, or Dismiss. On Pro, Explain expands the reason in plain language, and History lists every decision.
In Shopify admin, open Products, select products, choose More actions › Mark for restock. This adds or removes the product tag stock-rescue:restock. It is the only change the app makes in Shopify.
Prices are in US dollars per month, billed by Shopify. Every plan starts with a 21-day free trial, and you can change or cancel the plan from the app at any time.
