- Will the app change my prices or inventory?
- No. Recommendations are suggestions you approve, dismiss or mark done. The only change the app can make in Shopify is the “stock-rescue:restock” product tag, when you use “Mark for restock”.
- How is dead stock defined?
- A variant with no sale in 180 days is dead. Sales down by half or more against the previous month is dying, more than 240 days of stock is overstocked, and 90 or 60 days mark slow and watch. Settings explains each rule.
- Why are some money figures missing?
- Cash at risk is only summed for variants with a unit cost in Shopify. A banner shows what share of units has no cost, and tiles ask you to add unit costs.
- Can I exempt seasonal products?
- Yes. Add the product tag “seasonal” in Shopify and the product is left out of the risk scoring.
- Why does the trial last 21 days?
- Ageing and velocity need real stock and sales history. A longer trial gives the first import time to finish and the scores time to settle.
- What does Explain send?
- On Pro, Explain sends only inventory facts the app already calculated to our AI model provider, Anthropic (Claude API): variant title, SKU, risk, reason, age, days of stock, units, velocity and the suggested action. No customer data is sent.
- Can I ask Sidekick about dead stock?
- Yes, on any plan. Ask Sidekick in Shopify admin about dead stock or your inventory risk summary. Answers are read-only and come from the same analysis.
- How much does it cost?
- Basic $29, Advanced $59, Pro $129 per month, each with a 21-day free trial, billed by Shopify.
